We knew we could help alleviate some of the pressure to providers with our healthcare experience.
What it does
Cuts down on manual steps and saves time.
How I built it
We built out a front end form, that we translate to a FHIR resource to send to a FHIR server.
Challenges I ran into
Creating the initial FHIR resources, still mapping the resources but at this point pretty much mapping variables. (1 hour left to be production ready)
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We finished creating the FHIR part(the hard part)
What I learned
FHIR should be the new standard. The sooner the better we can have more apps that actually contribute to solutions like this vs having companies hoard data and not share it.
What's next for COVID-19 Reporter
-We need to get some funding to get some of the plugins for the integration engine. There's tools that integrate with FHIR really well that we don't have time to develop ourselves(don't reinvent the wheel). -Deploy to the cloud and get a baseline for costs. Our solution will scale to the entire country if we use AWS with almost no downtime. -Implement authentication of providers (This might already exist, need to leverage a solution)
