We are inspired by the idea of helping hands at a time when people cannot hold hands. We thought of bridging the gap of herofinders and modern-day heroes in real-time.
What it does
We connect the need to heroes/volunteers in the neighborhood to do simple errands, through an easy-to-use app. The intuitive app simply connects the hero finder to the helper and they can talk with each other.
How we built it
We came together to look at the need in our communities. We see a gap and we want to bridge it.
We want to simplify the process so we can quickly get the system up and running to offer help. We removed all data privacy constraints to ensure the app is lightweight.
Challenges we ran into
Safety. Security. Community. Payment system
Accomplishments that we're proud of
1) The evolution of the idea 2) Team work 3) Highly motivated team to work with
What we learned
We can accomplish a lot with a team that believes in the purpose of kindness.
What's next for HeroFinder
We need a team to develop and implement. We need a community to pilot and learn from. We need funding for the development and implementation. We want to learn and evolve the app to meet the community's need
