Inspiration

We wanted to reduce people's carbon footprint by building a platform for sharing vehicles. Our core goal was to encourage people to use car-sharing services and be more eco-conscious. With our website, we could share resources and information more seamlessly with our users.

What it does

Shrage is a platform that lets users borrow vehicles from shared garages. Users are able to borrow With monthly, quarterly, or yearly subscription plan, users can borrow more eco-friendly vehicles such as electric cars, electric scooters, and bikes easily and even charge them at our charging stations. On our website, users can find the nearest garage and what's available in it (e.g. wifi, maintenance equipment, repair, and car wash services). Additionally, users can read ratings and reviews for each location and share it with other people.

How I built it

We built the project with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Google Maps Geo-location APIs. We hosted the website on GitHub.

Challenges I ran into

The most challenging part of this project was implementing Google Maps on our web page. We were not very familiar with using APIs and ran into a lot of problems while using it.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of & What I learned

We successfully implemented the Google Maps APIs in our final product and learned to use Google Cloud efficiently.

What's next for Sharage

We want to create a login page for the website so users can see their subscription plan and the vehicles they borrow in their profiles. We also want to provide information on how much carbon footprint has each user reduced in their profile. Also, we want to add online payment so users can pay online instead of on-site. Lastly, we want to build a mobile application for our platform to make it more accessible to people.
